While the cricut explore air isn t technically the best for cutting wood it is possible and after a lot and i mean a lot of trial and error i think i finally figured out the best ways to cut balsa wood and basswood.

Balsa wood 1 32 1 16 and 3 32 inch this is a very soft wood that breaks easily.
Depending on the size and how many cuts it needs to make it can take minutes or up to 30 45 minutes.
You can cut basswood and balsa wood both with a knife blade.
It handles fabrics leather paper and balsa wood with effortless precision.
It is good for some crafts but be aware that it is brittle.
